The Lightspeed jacket is a sharp looking jacket that will work great for street and touring riders. The jacket is a good combination of comfort and protection. The material used in the outer shell is unique in that it is a stretch weave abrasive resistant fabric. It feels a lot like the material used in suits and jacket in the underarm areas and in the crotch areas of sport pants. The stretch material makes for a very comfortable feel and an easy fit. This jacket has very good climate control features so you should also be able to use this jacket for a good portion of the year. The jacket includes a removable fleece liner to keep you warm on colder rides. But with the liner removed you can open the two sets of vents on the chest and sleeves along with the two large rear exhaust vents to ride comfortably through warmer days (keep in mind that this may not be enough for the extreme heat). One last note on the liner… it’s constructed such that you can wear it separately as a light fleece jacket which is a handy feature for touring riders to cut down on packing. The jacket offers some pretty good protection. The shoulders and elbows of this jacket have removable dual density armor and there is also a dual density back protector. The jacket also has an "aerodynamic race hump". The hump is also a good safety feature that provides a bridge between your shoulders and the back of your helmet keeping your head from being wrenched forward in the event of a fall if you landed on your back.
