This Vintage Mantle Clock is a family heirloom and dates back to the 1910's. There is a metal plaque rivited to the base of the body that indicates it was purchased on Sept 27th, 1920. and pictured in #4. It was originally manufactured by the "New Haven Clock Co." and measures 13" H x 9" W.
Style: New Haven "THETA"
Comment: Bevelled Glass front and silvered dial.
Glass rear door w/brass knob.
Case: Genuine Mahogany 13" tall with 7" dial.
Works: New Haven 8 day time with rack and snail strike on gong.
Status: Estimated Value: $ 450.00 - $500.00
Year: c. 1910s
Reference: Ehrhardt clocks vol 1.
Condition: It's in good condition considering it's age. It doesn't appear to be working but, (this can be rectified by someone who knows about these types of clocks). It comes with the original key and it winds up just fine. The snail strike on gong works well and sounds beautiful. The case itself is in good shape. It does have a few small knicks on the outside that can be either buffed out or re-finished by someone who again, knows what they are doing.
This clock has been well stored and preserved over the year's. We've barely wiped the dust off...shot the photo and listed it, therefore it is sold as is.
